How
can we find out suitable profession of a native?
Planets in the10th house, lord of the 10th
house, those influencing ascendant, the ascendant lord, the Sun and the Moon,
are all significators of profession.
The
signs occupied by the significators of profession also influence the nature of
the profession.
The great sage Varaha Mihira says,
“Consideration of all the three ascendant – Janma lagna, Chandra lagna and the
Surya lagna is necessary. Planets having the greatest influence over these do
indicate the professions.
Service
(6) /Profession (10) / Partner-ship Business (7) which of the above three is
suitable for a native ?
Service – 6th house denotes
service. The position of Malefic planets, the Sun, Mars, Saturn, Rahu / Ketu in
that house strengthen the house. Or aspect this house or 6th lord in
exaltation house, in own house or they are in the houses 3, 6, 10, 11 the
native will go for service. If the planets Sun, the Moon, Mars, Jupiter are in
exaltation or in own house the native will have Government service. If Saturn,
Rahu, Ketu is placed in the 6th house they may serve in other
organizations equivalent to Govt. service. If Mercury is placed in 6th
the native will serve in different types of service. May be in Government
service.
If 6th house fall in the signs
of Aries, Cancer, Leo, Scorpio, Sagittarius and Pisces, ( The Lords of these
signs are Mars, The Moon, The Sun and Jupiter) the native may serve in the
uniformed services like Army, Police, CID, Forest dept, water resources,
Medical, Electricity, Electronics, Chemical, Research center, Estate, Mines,
Liquor, production of red or white color materials, Silk, Fine arts, cloth, Raliway,
P&T dept, Engineering, Medicines, Transport corporations, Real Estate,
Judicial, Endowment, Finance Department. Etc.
If 6th house fall in the signs
of Taurus & Libra, (Venus) Pisces (Jupiter) the native may serve and earn
their livelihood as an Artist, politician, jobs concerning vehicle, textiles,
Restaurant, Luxurious items, items of comforts, Lodges, Co-operative
organizations, Food items, fragrant, Fruits, Cereal, Art collections of Glass
wear, Media, Tours and Travels Etc.
If 6th house fall in the
signs of Gemini & Virgo (Mercury), the native’s livelihood will be through
Textiles, Printing, Editing & Publishing,
Journalism, Handicrafts, Aeronautics, highest posts in Government,
Judicial, leasing, Hire-purchase, Transport, Tele communication, Revenue,
Weavers society, Education dept. Research dept, Sports .dept, Accounts,
Auditing, Vigilance. Etc.
If
the 6th house fall in the signs of Saturn and Venus – Capricorn,
Aquarius and Libra, the native’s livelihood will be through coal, oil, items
beneath the earth, Iron, Steel, Machineries, Drugs, Animals, trees, Agriculture
and allied equipment manufacturer, Chemical, Jail Dept, Insurance, Liquids,
Sports, Items required for Local bodies, Defense, War equipments and manufacturer,
Birth and Death statistic .dept, Village administration, Black colored items,
commission agents, spare parts, construction materials, social service, sidda
medicines, Leather, Export – import, Hardware, manpower agencies, speculation,
Tax – collection, cine – equipments, Spy, Forest dept., Sculpture. Etc.
Profession of the native should be
analyzed from 10th house with respect to the ascendant, the Moon ascendant
and the Sun ascendant. Compare the three and find the strongest 10th
lord and 10th house. The
strong 10th lord will decide the profession of the native. If the 10th
lord and 10th houses of all the three is strong, the native will be
capable of managing many more industries and will be a big - shot in business.
If it is other way – i.e weak in strength the native should not enter in any
business. In divisional chart the Dhasamsa chart also to be examined for the
same.
The partnership in business should be
derived from 7th house. If the lords of the 2, 4, 5, 9 and 11th
house placed in the 7th house then the partnership business will get
on well with high gain. If placed in 6, 8 and 12th houses the result
will be negative. Moreover, there should not be any connection of Pathahathipathi
to the 7th house which cause loses in the partnership.
How we analyze native’s profession through
the Dhasamsa ?
Through the Dhasamsa chart (D10) one
should find out the native’s Business status, profession, the position he holds
and his efficiency. In the rasi chart as said earlier 6th house
represents service, 4th house service, own business, 7th
house partnership business and 10th house represents business. So,
both the charts should be considered for finding out the suitable profession of
the native.
Cause
study –
In this chart below, the native born in
Sagittarius ascendant. 6th house is Taurus (Service). 7th
house which represents Partnership is Gemini. Own business is denoted by 10th
house is Virgo. When you analyze the rasi chart, 6th lord Venus is
debilitated, and in 10th house. The lord of karma and house of
partnership 7, Mercury is in dhursthana 8th house. So, 6th
7th and the 10th all the three bhava’s are not strong.

As per rasi chart, it is not good for the
native to go for service, partnership or business. But, what is the secret that
he was doing Govt, service and own business? Yes, it is the favorable position
of planets in the dhasamsa (D10) chart. In
D10 the Jupiter aspect 6th lord Venus. So, he was doing Govt. service.
The karaka for service Mars is also exalted. So he was an engineer. The
combination of Mars and Saturn denotes engineering. Mercury is in Cancer and
his depositor the Moon is in exaltation. In dhasamsa 10th house is
Libra, Saturn and Jupiter aspect that bhava. Because of this, later on he
started many number of business and succeeded.
He became a business magnet. Now it is clear that D10 helps us to
determine the accurate prediction of profession.
Is
there any other rule to find out the profession of a native?
Now, let us see the principles of
stellar astrology contained in many works like Nadi, Sathya Samhita etc. These
materials are from the woks of ancient seers. Here we consider the nature of
the planet owning the star in which the lord of the 10th house is
situated. What is ‘Jeeva’? The lord of the star in which the lord of the 10th
house is Jeeva of the 10th house. The Jeeva of the 10th
house has influence over one’s profession.
For, example - the native of Aries
ascendant the lord of 10th house is Saturn. Say, Saturn is in the
star of the Moon, Sravana. The Moon represents liquids. So, we can come to a
conclusion that the native will work in a place where liquids are dealt with,
say an oil company.

Venus is the lord of 5th house.
Its aspect over the lord of 10th house causes Raja yoga. Ascendant
lord Mercury aspect over Jupiter also causes Raja yoga. Saturn and Venus the
lords of 9th and 5th have exchanged signs. Thus the lords
of houses 9,5,10 and 11 are connected together. Due to this Raja yoga he became
the Prime Minister of our country.
Jupiter’s placement in the 2nd
house coupled with the aspects of Mercury and Venus over the 2nd

In
her chart, by the exchanges of signs by Saturn and the Moon there arises a Raja
yoga, By the mutual transfer of signs of Jupiter (lord of 9) and Venus (lord of
4) there arises another Raja yoga.
The Karma bhava falls in Aries. The
Karmathipathi Mars and Dhanathipathi the Sun mutually transfer their signs.
These planets are closely connected and therefore Mars derives much strength
and authority. From the Sun, Mars is in the 10th house. There is
connection between lords of 2nd and 10th house. As Mars
denotes leadership and Sun is for Government, she headed the Government of a
great country.
There is clear Lagnathi yoga. Also the Sun
is strongly connected with Mars is related to Jupiter by aspect. Thus lords of2,
9, 6, 10 are connected to gather. Not only this, Venus and Jupiter have mutual
exchange of their signs. Venus is the lord of 4 and 11. Thus the 10th house
lord is connected with lords of 2, 9, 10 and 11. Now, we can understand the
strength of the great horoscope.
Now, we analyze the karma bhava in
particular. It falls in the sign of Aries. It is not subjected to any malefic
influence. Mars the lord of 10 is placed in the Dhana bhava. It is considered
as strong because it is in the sign his friend the Sun and in mutual exchange.
The Sun denotes royal power and Government . Thus yoga karaka for sign Cancer Mars gets immense power. Thus the lords of 5, 10
and 2nd houses are closely related. Poorva Pununya sthana represents
minister ship. Since the 10th house is strongly connected with the 5th
house, minister ship was bestowed. There is much more reason. The Sun is with
benefic planet Mercury. Jupiter is Bhagyadhipathi. Though Jupiter is considered
week in the sign Taurus, here it is not so, because of the mutual exchange with
the lord of Taurus, Venus. Thus the Bhagyadhipahi Jupiter and Labahdhipathi
Venus are very strongly related. Bhagyadhipathi Jupiter aspect the Sun and the
ascendant lord the Moon. Mars, aspect the Sun and Mercury. As such, number of
benefic yogas are present in this horoscope. All these yogas, have given the
high status of prime minister ship.

The Aries sign becomes the Karma bhava.
The lord of Aries Mars aspect its own sign by its 8th aspect. 10th
house gets the aspect of Bhagyadhipathi Jupiter’s aspect. Jupiter is in his own
sign. Jupiter’s trine aspect falls on
Aries and this is highly beneficial. Mercury and Venus too aspect this 10th
house. Thus 10th house is extremely strong aspected by three benefic
planets – Jupiter, Mercury and Venus and further by its own lord Mars who is
also yogakaraka for Cancer ascendant. Mars not only aspect 10th
house but also the lord of the 9th house. Jupiter’s powerful aspect
over the 10th house and placement in the sign Sagittarius indicate
towards legal profession.
Venus placement in 4th house
causes Malavya Mahayoga. He entered politics in Venus Maha dasha. In the Sun’s
dasha his fame steadily increased. In the dasha of Mars, the lord of the Karma
bhava, he became Prime minister of our country, during the sub-period of Rahu
which represents Mercury and Jupiter (Rahu is in Mercury’s sign and Jupiter
aspect over Rahu). The sub-period of Jupiter (Bhagyadhipathi) in the major
period of Yogakaraka has to be excellent. But as the Node Rahu gets the aspect
of Jupiter, in Mars – Rahu period, his elevation to the high post is in
agreement with Astrological principles.
He was very rich. His Dhana bhava
receives the beneficial aspect of Jupiter. Dhanakaraka Jupiter is strongly
placed in his own sign. The lord of 11th house is placed in his own
house along with Mercury. Mercury rules 3rd house and strongly
placed in the 4th house. So, he was highly learned and wrote many
books.
He was Prime Minister in Rahu dasha also.
Rahu represents Mercury which is combined with Venus and aspects the 10th
house. Bhagyadhipathi Jupiter powerfully aspect Rahu. So,Rahu is connected with
9, 10 and 11th houses. There is another way of analysis. Venus is
the Karaka of a very powerful Yoga- Malavya Mahayoga, which is maimly
responsible for giving Pt. Nehru the Prime Minister ship. That Venus is
combined with Mercury, and Mercury is a friend of Venus. So, Mercury should
give auspicious results of Venus. Rahu represents Venus, because Rahu is placed
in the sign of Mercury, and Mercury and Venus both aspect the 10th
house.
